Crysania awakes to her first night

Myles` had left Crysania that night to sleep in a darkened room in an old abandoned house long forgotten in the woods. He had gone in search of blood for she had drank life from him in her embrace, and when she awoke she would need to feed some more. Myles needed to take her into the city soon and teach her too feed on her own, and he hoped that task would not scar her forever. He had lead her from the house and into the clearing the sun had slipped beyond the horizon an hour past, and the wolves laid about waiting to follow their friend. Crysania stands in the clearing, a hunger felt more strongly than any hunger before seems to consume her mind. She clutches at Myles's arm and pushes her mind to think human thoughts...

Myles` grabbed Crysania close in his arms he was beginning to regret what he had done he could see the pain in her eyes. He did all he could to block his thoughts from her, he knew he could read her mind, but was not yet sure if she could read his. "The hunger is strong my artist please if you must drink from me, and tomorrow I will take you to feed on your own." Crysania lets herself be comforted in Myles's arms and fights the hunger. She feels the blood beating behind his skin though and hunger flares again. She closes her eyes and considers his offer... "Do you have enough blood to spare? I weakened you last night..."

"I went and feed after I put you to rest.... I will be fine," he smiled at her giving her a reassuring look. "Please drink my artist for I wish to not see your suffer." the wolves could sense suffering amongst the kindred their instincts told them so, and the let out mournful yelps and howls every so often as they paced about.  Crysania places a gentle finger on Myles's neck...feeling the pulse of blood. Her human mind trying to remember how to drink, last night being a red tinged haze. An instinct...a silver wolf, rises in her mind and shows her what to do. Crysania presses her lips against Myles's neck and uses her teeth to drink...  Crysania is washed away in a sea of red. Nothing exists except her hunger and the blood flowing from Myles. At first her greed alarms her, gulping to stop the pain of hunger. She struggles to curb it: to control it. She pushes back the fierceness in her feeding and succeeds. She drinks until the edge of the hunger is gone then draws her teeth out of Myles...she gasps a deep breath of air. Myles` had not expected her to drink from his neck; he figured she would have taken once again from his arm. His arms instantly wrapped tight around her as he let out a groan of pain his very life being drained from him. Listening to the heartbeat that grew louder.... louder.... faster, and..... closer to death... he was losing strength his grip was weaker, but the extasy he felt from her made him not feel afraid.  Crysania holds Myles tight as she finishes and rests her head on his shoulder. She is silent a moment as she feels the blood flow through her from the feeding, feels the flush on her face. "I didn't take too much did I...?" Her breath a whisper against his ear. Feeling a slight numbness to lightheadedness from the sudden rush of giving Crysania life, "Always be sure to lick your marks for you will heal the bite marks," he held her close as the wolves calmed once again. "I will teach you what you must know to keep us a secret... he slowly let go of his embrace and held her out at arms length almost like a proud father might, "We shall make the night ours," and he smiled letting her gaze into his eyes so she might be able to speak to his mind.

Crysania does as she is told, closing the wounds on Myles's neck, and then returns his gaze. She reaches out her mind and speaks to him without voice. ~Teach me what I must learn...~ Crysania looks around in wonder now that the edge of her hunger is gone... ~everything seems so different, so alive! ~

~In time my artist for tonight I want you to experience the sights, and sounds of night.... for we are no longer human, and our senses are more accute to nature~ he let go of her and slowly turned around in a circle holding out his arms the world is yours forever ... ~embrace it my artist. ~  Crysania stands silent a moment as she closes her eyes and lets her sense stretch around her. She hears the movement of the breeze through the wolves fur, she smells the blood of a small wood mouse that is braving the night...she feels the forest around her. And it is hers. ~This is what the night is...the essence of it...~ the voice of her mind a whisper of wonder. "There is one thing you must know my artist ... and that is the masquerade, he let it hang there for a few moments while she enjoyed the beginning of a new life. "Yes you feel the vibrancy and life of the night Myles` walked up behind her and wrapped his arms softly around her waist. "My gift to you...."

Crysania leans back against him and tilts her head to look up at him; the night breeze brushes a strand of silver hair. "What is the masquerade?" She speaks aloud, enjoying the sound of her voice as if truly hearing it for the first time. "We must not allow ourselves to be found... by humans or other kindred.... the trueness of who we are must always be kept secret when dealing with others."  He smiled back at her ... he was tossed between what he did, and the pure emotion of forever having her at his side.

Crysania turns and wraps an arm around Myles and lets her head rest against his body, listening to his heart. "We cannot let other kindred know who we are? But if you haven't seen any at all...wouldn't you want to find out who they are? But I agree...humans should not know who we are." She thinks in her mind that humans might be either jealous or afraid of a creature that is immortal...or drawn to one like she was. Myles reads her mind and responds to her thoughts, ~Most humans believe us to be a form of true evil, and ......... although I have only seen two kindred my sire, and now you. My sire taught me that other kindred can be worse than confronting a scared human. ~ He held Crysania close in his arms, "come let us walk I will show you where you will sleep until you learn more." Crysania nods and lets Myles show her new home. ~You can read thoughts...how do you do that? ~ She says into his mind.
