The disc ceramic caps with paint on them are selected caps, typically 1-2%. I don't think I've ever seen one of those go bad. Are you certain that is your problem??

The 2-B schematic doesn't have any component values for the PB tuner, which is what all those caps are. The 2-A schematic has values, and I have a schematic of the R-4B PB tuner on my CD. All the PB tuners are the same, essentially, from the 2-A to the 4-B, just added selectivity positions from 2 in the "A", 3 in the "B" and 4 in the "R-4/A/B"

Can you ID the capacitor you suspect on the 2-B schematic, even if you can't read the value? My 2-A and 2-B schematics are clear, but there are no values on the 2-B version. The 'purple' caps on the R-4B PB tuner board are the coupling capacitors on either side of the center PB tuner section.

I need some assistance in identifying a disc capacitor on my 2B.

Mounted on the passband selector switch, is a small disc capacitor,
connected to the two end connections on the terminal board. It has some violet (paint) marking on it.

The schematic I have is very 'blurry' at the point I need to see.

I'll do a digital pix, if no-one can identify it.

thanks
