This unit might be OK for receive, but I'd be reluctant to use it to
transmit based on spectral purity (or rather impurity) of the 9851 DDS
chips.

Several months ago I asked if anyone had used either the Misty Hollow
or Woodbox VFOs designed for the TR-7. Never did hear from anyone.
After months of trying to get Woodbox to respond, I finally gave up
and ordered the Misty Hollow VFO. It's completely plug and play and
sure does improve the TR-7. Here's a link to my review on eHam:
