Carl,
Well welcome back into ham activities. Obligations and priorities change and hobbies aren't the driving force, hi hi. Yep, your QTH isn't that far away, glad I got out that far. The Indy Hamfest is something I'd like to do since I can combine it with a trip to visit our grandsons, oh yes, our daughter and her husband are there too but we go for the grandsons, hi hi. Had we known the grandkids were this much fun, we would have had them first. If I see any SB-200s at Indy, should I give them your number or would you like their phone numbers? Too, there is the Old Gear Junk and Amplifier Builders' Net on Saturday morning, 10 am eastern time, on 7275. Just a thought. Too, you could put out a "wanted" ad on some free Internet sites like ARRL, QRZ, or QTH. Never know what people have. I owned an SB-200 for a while and really liked it. I sold it and now use a Drake L4B or L7, but I run them at low power to save the tubes. Thanks so much for your email. 73, Evan -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wed, 20 Jun 2007 10:37 am Subject: Re: [drakelist] Drake Nets [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: Evan, K9SQG Weds. 6-20-07 Hi Evan, We have not met but, Carl Hibbard WD8NHK Was listening last night, on about 20 ft of lampcord wire, have no antenna that comes close to being usable even with a tuner for 80 M. You were putting out a nice signal. Of course considering that I live in West Carrollton .......... Heard you say that you were thinking of going to Indianapolis Hamfest with your grandson. Have fun. I had originally intended to go but unless something happens to change things I am now committed to being out of town the following week I cannot make it. Reason for this note. Should anyone in the group(s) mention that they have a basket case Heathkit SB200 I would be interested. Doesn't need a cabinet, nor does it need finals or have to function. If you should happen to see one at Indy I would be grateful for any contact information that you could obtain. Am just getting back into hamdom after a 20 year break. Sincerely, Carl Hibbard 937-869-7604 is the home number. See what's free at AOL.com. ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone.
