Unfortunately, that wasn't exactly practical. When I arrived, the EMA comm trailer was already parked on the concrete parking lot, too far away from the grass for a GOOD earth ground. The county EMA truck that brought it was long gone by that time. And I don' think the VA would have appreciated us drilling a hole in their parking lot for a ground... Ideally, I would like to tame this as much as possible under those circumstances. You can't always be assured of having a good earth ground available under emergency operating conditions. Power wasn't a problem, my 30-amp Astron clone power supply seems to have plenty of overhead for generator variances. And this year, we are using shiney new EMA generators anyway. The wire runs weren't terribly long either, and no voltage problems were noted. Thanks for the comments. 73 -Jim -- Jim Shorney -->.<--Put complaints in this box jshorney (at) inebraska.com Ham Radio NU0C Lincoln, NE, USA EN10ps http://incolor.inetnebr.com/jshorney/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Submissions: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net ----------------------------------------------------------------------
