Carey,
If you are going to go through the alignment then I would not
worry about putting the tubes back into their original locations.
Although Drake designed there radios around Sylvania, either RCA or
Sylvania tubes are fine. In fact Sylvania made tubes for many other
companies. Its rare now a days to fine a Drake with all Sylvanias
in it. Drake also had to substitute as the supply dwindled. The
only consideration would be if some tubes of the same number are a
bit weaker than others. Critical circuits such as mixers, IF's, and
RF oscillators would benefit from the tubes with the stronger
emissions. Just a thought ...
