Standard practice is thumb for dots. But who cares. Whatever is most
comfortable for you. I do it the opposite (couldn't unlearn after
using a bug) and sleep well. Hendrix strung his guitar opposite too
and did ok.

Is there a standard practice for a right handed person to thumb the
dots and index finger the dashes? I don't want to learn one way and
go to someone else's shack and be backwards.
