"Hunter Ellington" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I have one for the group. I have a TR4XC, and when I put it in tune mode, it gives me output for 10-15 seconds then drops to zero. When I go out of tune mode for a few seconds then return, the transmit comes back for the same period then goes to zero. The finals are good, and when tuned it performs perfectly. The problem only occurs when tuning up. Any thoughts?

Are you tuning into a "good" dummy load? What is the plate current reading on the meter when you have 65W output? Does the meter read about the same plate current as on the other bands, or is it considerably less? Is the neutralization adjusted correctly? Does the plate current dip coincide with maximum output? Or does maximum output power require that you adjust the PLATE control "out" of the dip? Is the transmitter properly aligned? The final tubes may be getting "soft". Weak final tubes exhibit low output power first on the highest bands. 73, Garey - K4OAH Glen Allen, VA Drake 2-B, 4-B & C-Line Service Supplement CDs <www.k4oah.com> Ken Bessler wrote: > Ken Bessler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist > gang > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > My TR4 only puts out 65 watts on 28.400.
