Deoxit (from Radio Shack) helped... An old Swan 500cx would not power up initially and the problem was traced to badly oxidized pins and receptacles on a 15 pin Jones connector that supplied AC, and routed other connections in the power supply. I know folks have had problems with Drake gear and intermittant Jones connectors causing final tube damage. The Jones pins in this case still look dull but the filaments now light and the receiver springs to life after Deoxit was sprayed on the Jones pins. The stuff also gets wiped into the receptacles as the power cable is connected. I wouldn't try transmitting without changing both the 15 pin Jones plug and receptacle because the pins still seem loose and look dull.
