Hello Garey

I am writing from our freinds' labtop because we have no connetion these
days.
As soon as we are connected again I will return with some pictures and
comments concerning the PTO
gear assembly.

Possibly heavy grease used on the front ball bearing? I've had a few
where someone greased this with automotive wheel bearing grease! Also,
be sure the gearbox bearing adjustment screw (located at the back end of
the PTO shaft) hasn't been overtightened.

The front surface of the clip ring should be flush with the front edge
of the larger diameter of the brass drive shaft. Yours is working, but
the rubber clutch is only bearing on the face of this larger diameter of
the shaft and would begin to slip soon since the friction area is only a
small fraction of the surface of the clip ring. By the way, this ring
WILL break if you expand it too far.
