I have encountered a problem with a recently acquired L-7.(serial # 881)

When first turned on, HV is indicated on the multimeter. However, after about
10-15 seconds one of the circuit breakers on the PS-7 trips. The area under
the RF deck where the filament transformer is located seems to get warm.

Does this sound like a bad 3-500 tube (filament to grid short) or is there a
problem with the filament transformer?

I have checked the 3-500's with no voltage (filament or HV) applied and I do
not get any abnormal readings.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tnx & 73 Ed K2ZE
