Hello,
After I completed the "rebuilding" of a molested L7 (by an other user), and completed a homebrew HV supply, I installed the new 3-500ZG's. After some troubles all seems to work reasonable well except the input SWR of the amplifier. I did read the manual on page 5-2 about tuning the input circuit. Either I'm to stupid to understand what is written, or the amplifier version doesn't match the amplifier version or there are some "major" bugs in the description. It states that I should connect the L7-PS to the RF-deck, remove the cover of the L7 but make sure the 3kVdc is disconnected (I do have a separate HV connector on the power supply side so I do not have to remove jumpers). Then they tell me not to defeat the interlocks (2 pieces, one at the bottom to switch of the mains and the one at the top for the HV short-circuit). Not defeating the mains one at the bottom will result at no voltage at all. If I read the manual and look for the outcome, it looks like I ONLY will have to remove the HV (3 kVdc) from the L7 but keep all other things alive (which is easy for me because I have a HV connector at the power-supply side. Is there any one who can give me advise about how to do the input tuning. Thanks in advance. 73's, Evert PA2KW
