(Note:? G4ALG had posted some notes on a similar problem that got me to
looking at this issue and his notes led me to run separate power lines
for the high-current and low-current connections that fixed his problem
and my problem.)
If running separate lines fixed the problem, then the power supply does
not sound like the entire issue. It sounds more like you are having
excessive voltage drop on the power cable. Or the power supply drops
some, and the remainder in the cable finally "pushes it over the edge".
