Yes, Carl, the tuner was completely enclosed in an AL box and that slid into the usual Drake black container. It was a beautiful shielding job.
They were built like a battleship and some folks modified them to handle other bands. Great coils and great capacitors. The only wear and tear that I see on mine is that the connectors centers are worn thin by so much plug and un plug. (Another little replacement project!) The nice part is the alternative jack for say a dummy load for tuning up the rig.
