I'll add that there are lethal voltages, so please be very careful. Fixing the
filament circuit would be easy compared to the high voltage and RF work that is
ahead of you. Most of the TR-4 information still applies to the TR-3, which is
just an early TR-4 anyway. I brought a dead eBay TR-3 back to life, and then a
RV-3. I do use my TR-3 on the Drake technical net. I was able to use it to work
S04R on CW when my T-4XC needed repair, so you can still have a lot of fun with
a TR-3.

First thing to do, with power supply disconnected from the TR-3 measure the
resistances with the resistance chart in the manual.

You are getting the +250V but no 12V filament voltage. Check the filament fuse,
which is close to the power connector, I believe (my early TR-3 does not have
it).

I am trying to troubleshoot a TR3 that I was recently given and am trying to
restore. I have never done this before and as a result
have been googling everything I can find on the Drake line.

I have found many good websites, but they all seem to focus more on the TR4 and
TR7 series of
 rigs.

Does anyone have or can put together for me from your experiences in working
with the TR3 a troubleshooting guide? A sort of 1-10
type thing to go through.

Right now the rig (I have tried the power supply on another rig and know it
works) will not power up except the OA2 does light up
which I understand it normal, so that is a sign of life at least.

But now what do I check next??
