I have a Drake TR-7 PTO that I am using in an experimental transceiver and have
several questions about the PTO.

In a previous posting I was provided information on the wire color and
functions and that was good info. My questions now is how was the signal routed
from the PTO to other parts of the TR-7. Right now there is an unshielded wire
that has RF on it. Where did that wire go -- I guess I am asking did it ever
end up in 50 Ohm coax somewhere along in its travels. I am trying to reconcile
unshielded wires, leaky signals or wires picking up extraneous signals.

Second question; I notice a screw that can be adjusted on the side of the PTO
that is linked to a spring loaded mechanical mechanism. This screw has been
painted with gyptol (now there is a word straight out of an ARC-5 receiver) or
maybe coil dope (another OT word) or maybe even modern epoxy. My PTO tunes
smoothly but I would like to have a little more resistance as you tune --it is
just a feel thing. Is that adjustment screw intended to provide a level of
"feel" adjustment or is it "Boy don't screw with that screw".

Let us not take up bandwidth on the reflector so please contact me direct.
