An update:

Before I could get the Rx on the bench to check things out, it stopped doing this freq shift thing. I can't cause it to do it again..so for now, nothing to do but enjoy the rig!

Good Afternoon All:

Back from the summer off..

Fired up the B twins after a 3 month layoff and the frequency of the R4B is jumping regularly about 16hz. It stays steady and at intervals of approx 1-2 seconds, jumps 16hz for about a 1/4 second then goes back to the original. Both the original and the jump-to frequency are very stable. I have not seen this behaviour before on any of my Drakes. The problem is not there if I switch to Tx control. It does not appear to be mechanical since I can not aggrivate it with vibration or tapping. This R4B HAS the braid applied to the VFO slider and it has been cleaned and operating well prior to the layoff. No re-seating of tubes or other actions (switch or control settings)seem to eliminate it and it is apparent on all bands.
Seems to be fine in all other respects.

Any Ideas?
Thanks
