Brett -

I've run into trouble with Raytheons also. It's been many years since I used anything but Sylvania or Zenith, and I don't recall what I did with the Raytheons. Typically you can neutralize all but the worst, by tweaking the fixed capacitor C65 across the neutralization cap C64. It's not real accessible, buried inside the PA cage, (WATCH THE HV, it takes longer than you think for the power supply to bleed down). If we had specs for the Raytheons we could take a guess as to which way to go, but I never found those either!

Be sure to try neutralization on 20M first, the null is much broader and easier to find. IF you find it, then go up to 10M and it should take only a small tweak to get in the much sharper spot there.

Hi folks! I've been reading old posts here about tubes, and haven't come across
an answer. Still tinkering with the TX4C, and I picked up some final tubes
that are labeled Raytheon. I seem to be having trouble getting them to
neutralize. Are these tubes simply inappropriate for the Drakes?

Thanks,
Brett
