Thanks everyone for their input, both on and off list. Garey, I will try and round up some Sylvanias or GE's to see if that makes the difference. And I will pass on to my tech what you said about tuning. He mostly works on TV station transmitting equipment, so the old Drake may have thrown him a curve ball.
