I am working with my Dad, K8ZID, to restore a TR-4C. I live in China and visit him every couple of months so I am doing this from memory. The transceiver is now performing well with one exception that has me completely confounded. It is off frequency on 40 Meters by about 40HKz. All other bands are on frequency.
So the only thing it can be is the heterodyne crystal freq.... right? Well, he bought a "parts rig" and I pulled the 40 meter crystal from that one and plugged it in..... same result. I am not a Drake expert but I look at the schematic and the only frequency determining components are the VFO and the heterodyne oscillator. I am going crazy on this. Any ideas?
