Once more, proof that it's not nice to TRY and fool Mother Nature! (Or
the laws of physics).....

/*Hi Guys,*/
All this recent chatter on the Reflector about the orientation of
cooling fans---i.e. to ".../force/ cooling air /in/, versus to /draw/
hot air /out/"---convinced me that I should re-evaluate the small 12
VDC unit that I'd mounted sometime ago atop the enclosure of my Drake
/T-4X/...
Mind you, the area all around the cage shielding the final PA tubes
was /ALWAYS/ cool, thanks to the presence of the fan...but if the rest
of the components inside the rig would benefit from a fan that drew
air /OUT/ of it, rather than forcing air /INTO/ it, so much the better...
Well, to my complete & utter surprise, the colling fan /already/
_/WAS/_ installed such that it would blow /AWAY/ from the 6JB6 tubes,
rather than directly at them! I was amazed at how very /COOL/ that
area of the rig always was since I incorporated that fan---proof
positive that this style of air "extraction" is, indeed, /very/
effective...
"FWIW"...here's hoping everyone had a great "Drake" Christmas...!
