It was pretty cheap back In the 80's.  I wish I had it in my notes - strange 
thing is that I have a LOT of my old Drake notes from the '80's and this 
doesn't seem to be in with them!

I am continuing to look and feel that Sartori was the one who had the fix...

I seem to recall installing a mod to the 3rd mixer on my R-4C years ago that 
was available from Sherwood.  I believe it was an inductor (20 mH comes to 
mind) and I do recall that it quelled the frying pan that was inside my 
receiver at the time :-)  

I haven't looked it up but figured I'd pass along what I remembered about it.
