Ok here is the follow up, curiosity got the better of me & I went to
have a look !!.
I have 4 DSR-2s from Ser# 1369 thru to 1803. Ser# 1369 is all black
knobs & has the wide press buttons (AVC, NB & Stby). My earliest red
knob version ( RF gain & BFO) is #1674 & it also has the narrow press
buttons. I'm not sure about production dates, nor how it would cross
over into to MSR-2 production & would have to open them up to find some
date component IDs. Let me know if you need more info.
Whilst we are talking MSR/DSR, I do have a spare used DSR top & bottom
cover if someone needs them.

Hi to the list.
The later DSR-2 had the red knobs, whereas the earlier ones had all
black. There was also a variation in the size of the small rectangular
press buttons during the life of the DSR-2s, I think that they went
from narrow to wide??.
So, based on the above, the knobs on your MSR-2 are probably correct.

I recently acquired a Drake MSR-2 Maritime receiver. I understand
these originally came with Red knobs for the controls with a pull out
function. Mine has black knobs on those functions. So on the off
chance someone happens to have some Red MSR-2 knobs I would be very
interested in purchasing them. Thanks Kim -- K7IM
