3D-accelerated cell phones will start shipping in 2004. (According to an OpenGL-ES (embedded-systems subset) presentation given at the December ARB meeting. One of the companies working on this is 3d4W, www.3d4w.com .) Some graphics environments will be a lot more constrained than desktop systems, but the basic stuff will soon be available everywhere.
