Rage Mobility is closer to Rage Pro, ie one generation before Rage 128. ________________________________

I know that Intel 810 is perfectly supported, but I want to buy something cheaper (and older). Most of the pentium3 notebooks use S3 Savage and ATI Rage Mobility chips. According to http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/CategoryHardware S3 Savage and ATI Rage 128 are supported. Is "ATI Rage Mobility 8MB" supported? Or is it something different than Rage 128? Is S3 Savage stable on current DRI? There are some critical bugs in bugzilla (but there are also for r300 which works perfect to me now).
