I'm pretty unhappy with most wikis.  I already know a markup language for
formatting hypertext documents.  It's called the hypertext markup language.
You might know it by HTML.  I know how to use it, and I can understand that
< b > or < strong > means "bold" but damned if I can remember if it's '' or
''' in wiki markup.

That being said, since everyone seems to love wikis...... :) (I have in the
past actually set up a "you can edit text files with this".  The good ol'
days of SSI's.

me.  I can definitely do that.  Kinda already have been in fits and spurts.
(mostly fits, I do that well).
