Yes (as you already know)
I think most visitors to the site will not be fully armed against the
glaring ads, and it gives quite a cheap impression (but maybe that is
not so important?).

tikiwiki or do we try for a free version of say confluence.
I would whatever makes taking over the current content as easy as
possible.
3. We need a document maintainer and assistant would will be
responsible for content management, verification and spam control
(not responsible for document creation, that's the communities
role). Any volunteers
I cannot help with this so I understand if we agree it is too much
work at this stage. That would be one good reason for keeping wikia.
