For all those who don't know and haven't seen me on freenode, I'm trying to lend a hand to the Drizzle project in any way I can.
I don't know C or C++, so I'm trying to help out in other ways. I was able to secure drizzle.org (for over $1000 USD) and have been working on soliciting donations to reimburse the cost. Read more here: http://michaelshadle.com/2008/10/24/establishing-a-permanent-address-for-the-drizzle/ The domain is available for anything - be it subdomains for repositories, or just generally turned over to an official "Drizzle foundation" - but I would also be happy to help create a website if one hasn't already been planned out - I can host it as well without an issue (until Drizzle hits the big time :)) If that sounds like a decent idea, then I'm soliciting ideas for what kind of stuff should be on the site - any specific packages? I'm thinking a forum, maybe a wiki or other type of documentation system (is wikia the best? the ads kinda suck), a blog aggregator (which I already pull from planetdrizzle), perhaps a place for IRC logs, etc. I'm open for basically any next steps, be it working on the website or just turning the domain over to a *trustworthy* party... :) Thanks! - mike _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
