I imagine a simple database (drizzle?!) would allow us to store time and place for existing conferences. Then, utilizing a little geo-lookup, we could suggest attending a nearby, existing conference. If this is not optimal, then let them enter a request that has to fall within some constraints so that dev's don't get stuck talking instead of working.
