Aha! Something surfaces that is unhappy with my 4.2 requirement. :)

I don't know enough about the Gentoo stable/unstable releases/policy.
How often does Gentoo release? Should we care about the current gentoo
stable? (that's an actual question - not a troll)

As a frame of reference, I know Debian. Debian stable release cycles are
typically very long, and even though I'm an ardent Debian supporter, I
would _NEVER_ target our current development on what Debian stable
contains ... also since Debian stable is, be definition, frozen, and I'm
not going to get anything in. :)

Thoughts from other people?
