The implementation in the sandbox has now been merged into the trunk and 
checked in.  I'll finish bringing the wiki up to date ASAP. It is complete and 
includes some sample authority plugins. Documentation is on the wiki page,

The only known problem is that the "Lookup" popup does not handle its accept 
button correctly under the MSIE browser.  If anyone who is already familiar and 
equipped to debug Javascript under MSIE can look into this and advise me on 
what's going wrong, I'd be very grateful, since I have not had any success in 
getting any sort of JS debugging to work under MSIE7 (and I have no more time 
to pursue it).
