Brian Freels-Stendel commented on DS-1143:
------------------------------------------
I have anecdotal info. I used to see this behavior regularly, running 1.3.x
and 1.4.x, with a dspace user separate from Tomcat. When we upgraded to 1.6,
we made DSpace run as the Tomcat user. I haven't seen this error since.
> Java.io.IOException: No such file or directory error on file uploads or

> Our repository runs on 1.7.2, I can't confirm this issue for other versions,
> as it is intermittent. There have been a couple of reports on DSpace-tech
> regarding this error message (Java.io.IOException: No such file or directory
> error) cropping up at random, usually on file upload attempts. See:
> http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=28946233
> I have recently seen the same error when I was running an ItemUpdate from the
> command line. I will attach two stack traces, forwarded by one of our
> repository admins. Nothing immediately leaps out from a quick scan of them,
> however. My intention is to have a place in Jira where we can attach more
> stack traces, and see if we can maybe figure out what the problem might be.
