Hi all Developers & DCAT members,

A few quick updates about the OR12 DSpace Developers Mtg in Edinburgh on
July 9.

First off, Richard Rodgers (of MIT) has graciously agreed to "emcee" the
meeting. This means that Richard's role will be to help keep things
moving on schedule and lead some discussion topics. But, we are looking
for additional volunteers to act as "Discussion Directors" on specific
topics (more on that below).

I've just posted a "strawman" / draft agenda based on some brainstorming
that Richard & I did yesterday:

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/DevMtg+2012-07-09+-+OR12+Meeting#DevMtg2012-07-09-OR12Meeting-GeneralAgenda

We are looking for feedback on this draft agenda. Anything or everything
can still change or we can rearrange/reallocate time as needed. So, we'd
appreciate any feedback (positive or negative) you may have.

You'll notice there's a few new ideas we came up with this year,
including "Lightning Talks" and an "Ask a Developer Anything" sesstion.
These are entirely new brainstorms, so any feedback you have on whether
you would find these sessions useful/interesting is also welcome. Such
feedback may help us rework the agenda or reallocate time as necessary.

Finally, you'll notice that there is a "Discussion Director" listed next
to several of the topics. As I mentioned, we'd like to find some more
volunteers to help throughout the meeting. By acting as a "Discussion
Director" your role would just be to try to keep the discussion flowing
along (by asking questions or potentially calling on others to
participate). You'd be "directing" the group discussion & attempting to
keep it on-topic (i.e. you would not be expected to formally present
anything or prepare anything in advance). So, if you are interested in
helping with part of the meeting or want to learn more, please get in
touch with Richard or I!
