But I don't think we should blindly backport this change. While I completely
approve of it for master (I tested it some time ago), I don't think it's a good
idea to put it into 3_x because it has potential to break unrelated stuff. It's
simply not tested widely enough and the benefit of a partial fix of an issue
that we had for several major releases IMHO doesn't outweigh the risk of
introducing new bugs into the stable branch.
