I've tested an AIP restoration (with the PR code), and it still works properly as well. The AMDID is found in the AIP and proper Bundle access policies are created. So, Andrea's PR looks to have fixed both this issue and the related DS-1846 issue.
I'm scheduling this for release in 4.1. Will merge the PR shortly.
