In Deep Blue (at U. of Michigan) our practice and experience is similar to
what Sarah described below:

* we require only title, author, and date
* depositors usually add much more
* we (the people who run the service) don't do any systematic additions to
this, though we do tweak things when asked or see/hear about problems
