I take it you would like that if the author name is empty, don't "display"
that field in item list and item summary list. Is that right? In that case,
the method depends on whether you are using jspui(the default) or xmlui.
There are sections in the DSpace user's manual on how to customize
displayed metadata, but I'm not sure how you could extend that technique to
conditionally exclude metadata fields.
