Hi Rajiv, is anyone able to register himself or are you logged in as an admin able to submit an item? If not, this is most likely due to invalid smtp settings in dspace.cfg.
Check the following section in dspace.cfg. ##### Email settings ###### # SMTP mail server mail.server=smtp.myu.edu # SMTP mail server authentication username and password (if required) # mail.server.username = myusername # mail.server.password = mypassword # SMTP mail server alternate port (defaults to 25) # mail.server.port = 25 # From address for mail mail.from.address = [email protected] # Currently limited to one recipient! feedback.recipient = [email protected] # General site administration (Webmaster) e-mail mail.admin = [email protected] # Recipient for server errors and alerts # alert.recipient = email-address-here # Recipient for new user registration emails # registration.notify = email-address-here If the settings are correct, please provide detailed information (stack trace) of the internal error, you find these in the logs. In case you got the "Internal Error Page" the stack trace can also be found in the page source. Right click in the browser and view source. Find <h1>Internal System Error</h1>.
