Hi Karen, With version 1.5 Dspace moved to using Maven to build the application. Maven will download any jars required for the build so they are no longer distributed with DSpace. The latest version of Dspace is actually 1.6.2, I would recommend you upgrade to this version. Have a look at the documentation distributed with the software and you should find 'Chapter 4. DSpace System Documentation: Upgrading a DSpace Installation'. Given the gap between 1.3 and 1.6 there will be steps you can bypass, such as copying the postgres jar.
