I haven't tried. 1) Make sure to back up your database before the change. 2) Seriously, do back up your database! 3) If the changes don't reflect in the user interface immediately after running the SQL, you may need to run index-update and update-discovery-index. I'm not sure if it's needed, but it won't hurt.
