Hello Mike,
I don't know if I am mistaken, but I am sure someone could correct me.
When you run ant -Dconfig=/usr/local/dspace/config/dspace.cfg update,
you deploy only your configuration file.
What you need to do is to deploy the freshly-built webapps directory,
that contains your image in your runtime-dir.
I would run -ant update_webapps (my syntax could be wrong here!) in case
you only need to add a new image, or -ant update if you want to deploy
the entire build.
