I have not used any wiki's for the purpose of a general website, so perhaps you can help me clarify a few things. Compared to a normal site, I do not think that a wiki is as effective at conveying general information, such as a news & updates, screenshots, mirrors, etc pages. Also, would we be able to have a Feature Request page, like we have at the current site?

Why not? Name a page "news" and link to it from the main page. And so with the others. It's even easier to edit than simply html, unless you want to keep the contents in a db. And most wikis do that too.

I am not against the idea of combining the two sites into one, I just want to know that it could serve all of our purposes.

Andreas Schneider already suggested trac. I think that's a good idea too. It's not just website+wiki but pretty much everything else too.

Check it out. http://trac.edgewall.org/

You can search google for examples of trac installs.
