I had sent out information on 3.8.1cvs packages that should be even
better than 3.8.0. I've been running them for weeks and they are
certainly no worse. I don't have any issues that I didn't have before.
I've been in discussions with others about joining the debian/ubuntu
maintainers to get the package upgraded; not sure if we can make it in
time for ubuntu 8.04 in April. But unofficial packages are available

Unfortunately all debian distributions (stable, testing and
even unstable) all use 3.6.8. That's not looking good going
forward so I will have to consider maintaining my own package
if I want to roll this out to all my servers (and I do).
