Hello Anyone... This is Aaron in Laredo, Texas. I have the original (First version) of the Dstar module (C-VHF) and controller. The firmware on the Controller was updated by ICOM remotely at one point.
We are having poor audio when connected to any gateway station or reflector. It comes and goes but, the audio is so poor that users here are now bowing out and going back to Analog. I don't blame them as I almost feel the same sometimes. I have changed everything you can think of on our system, everything from coax, antennas, power supplies, new duplexers, computers, network cards.. you name it it's been changed. We even added a Chip Angle pre-amp and Filters! I have emailed ICOM but, have yet to recieve a reply from them. Here is a sample of an audio mp3 file from our system.
