One of the best uses of the "I" command is to see if the repeater is linked or 
not.

If you issue the I command and get a repeater ID or nothing (if ID doesn't 
exist) then you know the repeater is not linked. If you get the "repeater is 
currently linked" message then you know that it is linked.

And don't forget the commonly used :) voice mail commands as well, S0end, 
R0eceive, and C0lear.
