I had this identical problem, a few times. I was using my ID-800 as a base station. I was transmitting on 441.0 MHz and heard the beeps and the radio stopped transmitting. Never happened on any other frequency. I mentioned it to one of the Icom Tech. guys. He had no comments. I dunno...
