Here are a couple of more pieces of info/answers to your inquiries: -The truck is a 2005 F150 Fx4, single battery system -Power cable from the battery to the Rig Runner block is 8 gauge -All fuses check out, have no measurable resistance -Load test of the battery (5 yrs old) shows that it is at 83% capacity relative to the original CCA rating (time to replace fairly soon) -Alternator output is constant at 14.2V -*My other ID800H, when installed in the truck, does *not* exhibit the same behavior. Perhaps the one that was in the truck originally is more sensitive to voltage fluctuations?
To bring his back to a DSTAR specific topic: why was this beeping/drop in output power only observed when transmitting in DV mode on UHF? I know the rig draws more on high power in UHF than in VHF, but why did this occur in DV mode but not FM?
