Uncle Mo managed to solve it.
The stack trace did not contain much information "no debug object" or something was the main message.
I went into my webmail and checked it as the problem was appearing only when downloadingmail from one account. I found a message that had no sender!!! and a wierd header. Kmail seems to have a problem in handling it and threw an error and crashed it.
Back up and running now..
