Being able to install it doesn't mean it will be supported or will work 
properly.

If you're looking for a free OS that will work and be supportable you 
could try installing it on Solaris 10 for x86, which is freely 
downloadable from Sun.  White Box Linux and CentOS are free clones of 
Red Hat EL that you could use as well.
