I'm downloading FreeBSD 6.. prepare for the worst.. On the linux front. Qemu now supports full virtualisation for Linux/Win2k and WinXP guests! w00t (Oh, and 1600x1200 resolution but only in 8 bit mode) And with the vnc patch, it will compile sans X and SDL libs so you can run it on your headless servers :) Nothing like having Win2k, WinXP, Gentoo and Knoppix all sitting and running on your Debian server and add accessible via vnc and or ssh :)
http://www.qemu.org Oh, I believe it runs virtual i386 based OS on x64 hosts also now.. so you can have your native x64 distro and still run a full speed virtualised linux/windows guest on it.. The requirement for VMware is slowly going away :) Oh! and of course it's excellent for testing new linux distributions without messing with your machine. I've finally got around to having a look at Gentoo and I'm on my way to BSD (though I'm not sure if BSD will work with the full virtualisation yet) Brad -- "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so." -- Douglas Adams Yahoo!
